After an eighteen hour transit, stopping off in Toronto en route, we arrived at half ten at night. It was dark and as we crossed the Rockies and turned around the dark silhouette of the North Shore Mountains we began to see the lights of the ski-lift scaling the slopes of Grouse Mountain and the incredible firework display that ‘they’ had put on to welcome us. Stepping quickly into a waiting car we were taken to our apartment and smuggled in the back door to avoid the waiting pack of paparazzi on Robson Street – our wilting frames lifted by a most welcome malt whisky from Alex.
And to sleep!
